The Next Step

In our journey of knowing Christ, things may get a bit "boring" or stagnant. Try to recall how things were moving before you got into this site. Compare it to the things that were happening while doing the dares and then compare it again now that we have "grown" in Him in some way. Perhaps things right now are quiet compared to the previous months or years. Perhaps there are challenges that come our way but because we learned how to trust Him, we no longer overreact or panic. Hence, even if we struggle staying and standing up for our marriage, things are "stagnant".

I feel the same come 2017. When I decides to let go and focused more on myself I rarely experience the "drama" that my failing marriage brings. It feels good but sometimes because of it we also feel less need to pray or to worship or serve.  When the vision of God is nowhere to be found and enthusiasm to serve Him isit is fading, it is the perfect time to persevere. Perserverance requires taking initiative. Surely it requires the grace of God to move forward but it also needs us to bring such grace into the flesh.  It requires us to move. Most of the time when there is nothing "big" going on with us or when there is no vision from God, we tend to lose interest and give up. When we have no vision, no encouragement, and no improvement, but only experience our everyday life with its trivial tasks we tend to slack off and forget to work on our devotion. During these times, we must take the next step of drawing ourselves closer yo Him. We must remember that the thing that really testifies for God and for the people of God in the long run is steady perseverance, even when the work cannot be seen by others.

Therefore, when no big things are happening, we must push ourselves to be closer to God more than ever.. :)

  • Amen!!

  • Yes,.

There's always the next step.  Until we can no longer decrease.  While Christ completely increases in us.

  • so true.  He has daily bread for us every day if we seek His Presence in the present.

  • Amen

  • I'm very much there and I think He is making me more aware of my need to continue to seek Him daily.

Yes it seems stagnant.  But imagine if you will a river that is damned the water gets stagnant and stops flowing.  It builds and breed nastiness.  You need to trust the Lord to remove that dam, the roadblock in your life to get moving again.  This is out of your control, you must be patient and wait until this work is done on the dam.
