Piercing Question

  • Comments 5

I have been meaning to post this but lacks time..

Anyway..

The past week I have learned that God has His way of asking questions. When He does asks us questions, oftentimes it cuts so deep. When God asks us questions it hurts us more than sin or the enemy could because sin actually dulls the senses while God's love allows us to feel everything. God's questions often hurt more than the spiritual level for it pierces through the division between the soul and the spirit to the point where no deception could ever remain.

Christ asks Peter "Do you love me?" three times. The first two instances, he answered so passionately, giving Christ amazing reasons why he loves him. Hence when he was asked the 3rd time he somehow got "offended" or "annoyed". It was also at this time that he understood why Christ has been asking him such over and over. It was on the 3rd time that he realized that he loves Jesus to the deepest part of his core. He answered him yet in a simple way this time around -- "Lord, you know all things". Truth about his love for Christ was revealed to him that time.

When Christ will ask us question, it will definitely hurt. Yet even if it will, we have to be grateful for a great revelation will come afterwards. God never really asks questions when it is not yet time. He rarely inflicts pain that hit straight in our core. However, when He does, we will realize how much we love Him and it is more than words can say.

I gave this a thought and I realized what God has been asking me for quite sometime already. His piercing question for me is: "DO YOU TRUST ME?"

Embarassing as it may be, I cannot answer Him with a total "Yes". I'm scared. Everything that I pray for He gives the opposite. I know He has wisdom behind it but I am actually getting tired of the pain. God promised that He has plans for us to prosper. However, He did allow the devil to tempt and test Job who has been loyal to Him. If He can do so to His faithful servant such things, how much more to me who is a sinner? I am actually scared of the pain. I am also scared that may not be able to remain faithful to Him when tested. :( I prayed for this. Yet to no avail still. :(

  • Princess...he is putting the same thing on both our hearts at this moment!  Please search "What it means to trust the Lord" and look at the Bible Hub response...Heart Talks by Charles Wesley Naylor.  It was a breakthrough for me this morning...though I know this peace will waiver with my strength - it has brought me pure joy this morning!  I pray for that for you too!

  • A lack of trust is a lack of faith.

Everything you pray for He gives the opposite.  Maybe He hasn't given you what you asked for yet.  Maybe it is not time.  Maybe it is not time until you are fulling trusting Him.   If He gave you all your desires, would you have reason to really learn to trust Him, or would you be content with what He gave you.?

I am concerned too if I can give everything to Him, expecially if He tests me.  But in HIs strength is where we rely, not on our strength.  And His strength is sufficient.

  • PAR: YES, i guess your post is the answer to my question. haha. THANK GOD for you  :)

TIM: you are right. everytime He places us in situations we dont really like He is definitely teaching us something and as His followers, we must be mindful of that. ;) Thank you.

  • Yes I have experienced this too.  I turn and pray.  PAR I looked into that  from Bible Hub and absolutely loved it.  We all need reminders and can always read and learn more about God and how to put our trust in the Lord.  Has anyone heard of Michael Cresswell?  If so what are your thoughts?
