Day 18: Love Seeks to Understand

  • Comments 2

We hardly ever have time to do this. Today was no exception. I did however prepare a special dinner, but my mom and the kids enjoyed it with us. I set some time aside and while the kids played, we sat outside and talked. We talked about whatever came up. Work mostly, but we also talked about a new place, where we are looking at getting it and discussed a place that I saw advertised in our local paper, so we decided that I would go look at it today, and if I like it, to make arrangements for Hubby to see it Saturday after work. I have grown to love these moments with my husband, moments of stillness or general chatter. We have not spoken to each other like this in a very long time but since I started the Love dare, this has almost become part of our daily routine and how I love it!

Later he played a bit of guitar for us, showing me the new cords he learned. He made lunch while I put the kids to bed, and we had an early night ourselves, chatting bit more before we slept.

In my prayer and devotion time I received the following scripture.

1 Corinthians 1

Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,

To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours:

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriched in every way—with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge  God thus confirming our testimony about Christ among you. Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

I am so blessed with the scriptures I get every day. They are so relevant to my current situation. And I am so thankful for every one of you, helping me through this journey. It is a battle for me every day, but I’m always reminded of 1 Timothy 6:12 “Fight the good fight of the faith.” Our Christian walk is a fight, a fight in which we win one battle at a time. To win this battle, we must have a never surrender attitude! Thank you everyone, and above all thank you Christ!

  • I Corinthians was just what I needed to see this early morning, Peaches.  Thank you so much.  The way you are seeing the simple things, the craving of the ease...that is HIm at work.  I know you know this. :)  Blessings!

  • Or have a surrender to Christ attitude! LOL
