Day 2 - continued...

The entire day this played on my mind. I thought I’d so some of the things I expect him to do. I bought dog food on my way home; I went shopping and asked him if he needed anything that I could get for him. I got what he wanted (deo) and when I got home I started on the food and unpacking the groceries.

He had brought wooden flooring for the dog’s kennels and had laid that down instead of doing his gym; he had glued one kitchen chair to see if the glue will hold before he does the others. While I was cooking food, he unpacked the dishwasher packed away the dishes and packed the dirty ones in again. The pots and pans that could not go in, he washed by hand. He helped me bath the kids, and after I had put them to bed, while I was singing for them still thinking what I can really do for him, God gave me that light-bulb moment.

I realized that he had mentioned he wanted to cut his hair. That is it! That is what I will do for him. I decided to go unlock the gate for the Garden services tomorrow, so that he wouldn’t have to do it, and while he was finishing up a smoke outside, I came in and got the hair clippers ready, with a little stool for him to sit on.

He was so surprised. He took off his shirt, sat down and I started on his hair. He closed his eyes as if he was really enjoying it and said “wow, when last did my wife cut my hair”. It made me think. I always used to cut his hair, but not in a long time. He always does it himself. I felt ashamed. When he got out the shower the room was ready for his back massage. He enjoyed that too. I was glad I could do something nice for him.

Before we got ready to sleep, he asked me if he must put the fan on for me. He had noticed that I said I was so hot during the night before. So he did. I was at peace.

  • Praise God... Imagine when you get the book and you can read the chapters that lead to the actual dares....

For now as well, there are journals that we have written that may help and even give you a head start to understanding what is to come.
