Collaborate without boundaries

Day 27 - Distracted

  • Comments 2

This dare had been pretty much covered in previous discussions with my SO and, given his somewhat coldness in the last phone conversation, I knew that he wouldn't be up to discussing anything again. I took the time to pray for him. I think I was also partially distracted due to my extended stay at my parents. While I do enjoy the company, my mother will make certain comments about the way I am raising my daughter or questions my authority. It's really hard trying to set up certain boundaries when you are a guest in another house but she is starting to override my decisions and substitute her own when it comes to certain things. My patience has been wearing pretty thin and I can't seem to really focus on God's word; it's almost like there is just too much going on, too much noise and I don't know how to shut it all out.

  • Do the dares as they are intended to be done, without manipulating them or changing them.  When you don't do the dares as they should be that is you taking control from God.

All us have often felt like we just did a dare when it comes up and it becomes scary to do some of these dares.  but these are the dares that offer the most growth.  Next time take advantage of the opportunity to trust God and do the dare and grow more.  These are the very dares that God sees your trust  in Him and this allows the door to be more fully opened for God to work in Him and you.

  • The dare helps you. It's not going to change your SO's mind but it's going to change you so that your SO will see a new person. Then they can decide what they want to do. It's going to take time though so patience is important.

I'm sorry about the position you are in. I can relate because my mother-in-law babysits my children and she fills them full of worldly nonsense. It's aggravating but right now we have to deal with what's in front of us the best we can. Find time to read your Bible and study. It's the ONE thing that will keep you focused throughout this.

"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come."

    2 Corinthians 5:17
