What God requires...

What God requires of us isn’t the difficult things, what he wants from us is the imposable.

Imposable for us that is. But completed in the finished work of Christ Jesus our Lord. The cool thing is that we can walk in that same perfection, walking in Christ. God sees us differently under his blood, he doesn’t see a sinner or a failure, he sees Jesus; forgiving us through his Son’s death and resurrection.

As I was driving to church today I was overwhelmed with the weight of my sin and God righteous requirements met by Jesus on the cross.

And it reminded me of Romans 8:1 “there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” I thank and praise my Heavenly Father for His grace and forgiveness, I was reading in Ephesians 2:4-6 the night before at work “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—By grace you have been saved—and raised us up with Him in heavenly places in Christ Jesus…”  We can walk in the newness of life talked about in Romans 6:4-6 “We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised form the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in the newness of life.” No longer condemned by our sin but dead and buried with Christ in death to sin, and resurrected with him also in newness.

This doesn’t mean that we will struggle with sin daily but no longer defeated by it. Though we ma stumble from time to time God in his grate mercy gives us an advocate. 1 John 2:1 “My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous.”    Seek to obey God’s commands and cease from sin. James 4:7-10 “Submit your selves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double minded.” Make your way straight before the Lord and he will direct you in righteousness.

  • I am glad you are getting so much out of  prayer and reading.
