Kindness Round 4

  • Comments 1

Kindness is Loves action in difficult situations, the example set for us in Christ is very clear.

1 Peter 2:18-20

18Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust. 19For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly. 20For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God. 21For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. 22He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth……

……….. 23When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly………

……….24He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 25For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

I know everyone is thinking “How can I do that? He was God. I could never do that like he did because I am not god.” This is true. But if you remember right we have new life “IN” Christ, new creations, God indwelt beings that can in his strength do all that Christ did through faith in his finished work. There can be no you left only Christ, you have to “let go, and let God” He must live his testimony through you.

The last 2 verses are the reason that we have the opportunity to walk in kindness. Why would I not be kind when God showed the ultimate kindness with his death on the cross.

  • The world will never understand or go with what you just said.

Love is most evident in pain.  But the world says to strike back when pain is given. Not what Christ says to do.
