Dare 37R3...Love Agrees in Prayer

  • Comments 4

Praying is our link to God, it is the way we communicate our pain, fear, sadness, and love to God. A breakdown in prayer will divide your heart between your will and Gods will, when this happens we end up telling God what we want him to do to prove his love for us, and that is not an acceptable way to ask God for anything. It is unrealistic expectations placed on God himself.

As James points out in chapter 3;

But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.

When we impose our will (selfish ambition) into/on-to our situation we start grasping selfishly for our own lusts and a whole gambit of other evils start popping up.

James 4:3 says “You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.”

When we ask God for things in his will and plans, we ask aright, God wants to answer your prayers, but he will not bend to your will. Humble yourself before God and seek his will, to obey it, and your prayers will be “aright”

  • oh brother...You hit home on a couple points thats going to force me to read this at least one or two  more times.  LOL.

  • NOt sure how my reply will come across....I was implying some good points were made.

  • Just some things the lord has been showing me. I feel reluctant to put these things out there because I don't want it to be mine, I want it all to come from the Word, not my human interpretation.

  • It's good you are doing this for God's glory.  Because sometimes people can act for God but then pride gets them to seek attention for doing so.
