Today is Thanksgiving, and I would like to wish everybody a happy thanksgiving.
I attended a thanksgiving mass this morning. As usual, the priest said to count and be thankful for all our blessings. I never really paid much attention to sermons before. However, ever since I started this journey with Christ, I came to realize that I’ve been taking most of God’s blessings for granted. Now I’m appreciating all the things that He had given me and thanking Him everyday .
Lord, I thank you for all your blessings, the good as well as the bad. I know now that the ‘bad’ are not really ‘bad’ if these are coming from You. It’s only my perspective that made them ‘bad’ because of my selfishness and my limited understanding of Your plan for my life. The adversity that I’m having now is not really ‘bad’ after all because it brought me back to You. Now I really have Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit in me, and I know I’m saved. I thank my wife. Bless her Lord.
Once again, I’m putting all my trust in You because You’re the only One who can satisfy all my needs for whatever is remaining in my short life. Thank You Lord for all my blessings and for You.
I feel the same thing as you are saying. Also, I am hoping that my husband and the kids will realize what they are missing. I do realize that we happened to be a testimony for our loved ones. Enjoy your day with your family.
Instead of good and bad. Consider blessings as easy and hard. The harder ones are blessings that always open our eyes and hearts to what Christ is trying to teach. But they can be made easier if we continue to take them quickly and always lay them at His feet.
