Day 7 - I did it

  • Comments 3

It feels like weeks that I been busy with the LD and it is only day 7. Glad to say that week one is done and that I have learned so much about myself already and where I need to make changes.

I did today's dare and was very surprised on just how easy it is to find positive attributes and how not so easy it is to find negative attributes, for what it is worth I think this has a lot to do with the dares as 2 weeks ago I think it might have been the reverse.

My wife is away until Tuesday as she needed to go to collect her diploma. I sent a text as she often refuses to answer my calls.

I sent a message: Thank you for being such a beautiful and honest person.

She has read the message but has not replied which I reckon is a good thing as she usually likes to retaliate on texts and tell me to stop as things are over.

I am looking forward on my next week of dares and growing in Christ.

God bless you all.

  • In the beginning days and even months of this, it can feel like an eternity.  We can get in the habit of thinking, man, I'm on day number 28, when is my spouse going to see my changes and start coming back?  But, keep to understanding she has free will that God will not take away and also be patient with God's timing, it is perfect.

She may not answer your calls, but call before texting anyway.   For a few reasons, one, maybe God would have her answer the phone this time, two, maybe she would pick it up for once, three, maybe the tone of your voice even if you leave a voicemail would infer how much you meant what you said vs her thinking you wereen't that serious in the text.

Do your best not to change the dares.

  • It's good you see how the dares are molding you.  Thank God for that.

  • My wife nearly always ignores my texts. Every now and again I get a "thank you" but for the most part it's like she didn't even read it. She will text me back talking about something completely different. I don't let this bother me because I know I did the right thing according to God. I feel a great peace and I know she saw the words so she HAS to think about them. So at least it's out there in her court and she has to deal with it and with God. As long as I (you) remain true to God He will be happy.

Just make sure you are actually doing things for God. Don't let your own selfish pride get in the way. Submit to God's will first and great things will come.

"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her."
