Collaborate without boundaries

R4D29 At least he responded....

DH left this morning to go hunting.  As part of today's dare, I was supposed to say "I love you".  I didn't get it said before he got into his brother's truck.  He called me tonight as he was going to bed.  I didn't get it said then either.  After I got off the phone, I was so disappointed with myself.  I sent a text that said "Stay warm - I love you".  I slid the phone back into my purse, not expecting any kind of a response. Ever since DH announced he wants a divorce, he quit responding to verbal "I love you" and any time that I have said it in a text, he has just not replied.  Shortly after I put my phone back into my purse, I heard the text tone.  I pulled out my phone, and DH had replied "ok".

I am praying tonight that God will work a mighty work in DH's heart, but I am in just as much need of a heart change. There is still so much ugliness in my own heart.  I constantly battle my own selfishness and pride.  I haven't spent as much time in prayer and in God's word since I got back from my sisters house, and my flesh is rearing its ugly head. Christmas festivities disrupted my routine. It's time to get back to it.

  • It is crazy how a very important Christian day can disrupt our routine so much we get out of prayer and reading a bit.  When this season we should be even more so seeking to grow.  It happens to many of us I am sure.

Getting the ok, it is good you didn't expect or look forward to seeing if he responded.

I think Jenn's journal is similar to yours.  She went 7 rounds I think.  Her husband was kind for the most part, yet wanted a d.  They did reconcile.

It's good you recognize the selfishness and pride.  what would be worrisome is not so much having these things but not realizing you have these things to get rid or.

  • You did the dare and DH knows you love him. Good day!!! Now concentrate on your relationship with Christ. Make sure He knows you love Him too. Continue not to expect anything. We are all always in need of work on our hearts.

"Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God."

    Colossians 3:16
