R4D24 All I need is Love

  • Comments 2

Today’s dare directed me to focus on thanking God that He and what He provides can satisfy me and meet all of my needs. This is the third message that has come through to me loud and clear from God this week. The first was that I am to be thankful for the trials in my life. The second is that this trial is about the change that is needed to take place in me, not my spouse. This third message is that people, places, and things, even at their very best, will never satisfy my deepest longings.  People misunderstand, disappoint, expect too much, aren’t available, or simply walk away. Places and things crumble, break, deteriorate, or stolen, or are wiped off the face of the earth by a natural disaster.  God is love and He is truly all that I need.  This is a message that I have needed to hear, and I am thankful that God has given me the reminder.

I spoke with DH briefly this evening. He sounded tired. I am thankful that the lines of communication are still open, and I am looking forward to returning home day after tomorrow.

  • Keep this in mind the next time you feel a void in your life and then let God fill that void.

  • God's grace is sufficient for you. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

You need to change. We all need to change, including our spouses but we can't change them. They have to come to that conclusion on their own. We can NEVER be like Christ but we should all be striving for that every day.

Jesus Christ is the only thing that will ever satisfy you. He's the only thing that will ever satisfy our spouses. Unfortunately this is something that is usually learned through much heartache.

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. "But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal."

    Matthew 6:19-20
