R2D20 Jesus loves me, this I know

Dare 20.  Half way through round 2.  This journey is teaching me and giving me just a taste of what it is like for God to love us in spite of our rejection.  Phil 2:5-8 says "Make your attitude that of Christ Jesus, who existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be used for His own advantage.  Instead, He emptied Himself by assuming the form of a slave, taking on the likeness of men.  And when He had become as a man in His external form, He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross."  Jesus loved me in spite of my rejection.  He loved me first.  His love was demonstrated through great sacrifice.  I am overwhelmed by my Savior's love.  This is my example.  This is how I am to love my DH.

I cooked one of my DH's favorite meals this evening, complete with dessert.  DH had to work today, and so I used part of my Saturday preparing a really good dinner.  DH did not thank me or even tell me it was good, but at this point in the dares, I no longer expect it.  With Christ as my example and with His strength, I choose to love DH first.  I choose to love him in spite of the rejection.  I choose to love him through personal sacrifice.
  • As you mentioned you love him through personal sacrifice......Love is most evident in pain.  So, you are really learning what unconditional love really is.

Keep not having no expectations, and when your husband does not say thank you, know God as seen your sacrifice and in some way is/will pat you on the back.  He notices, and that's what counts.
