Do we really know what is at stake?Do we know God has ordained marriage and why there are few exceptions why  there is just cause for divorce?To give Him glory.To show the world how God intended marriage to be is a mirror reflection of how God loves the church.The world tells us that marriages are disposable,the world tells us to trade our marriages in like we do cars,the world  tells us to just live together in case things just do not work out.This is the enemy's way of perverting God's idea of marriage.Unfortunately too many christians have bought into this mindset and it is sadeening for it seems like it is only getting worse(makes you wonder if they are really christians or do they really know what love is).Marriage is beautiful when it is set ablaze,when the birds are singing,when deer are prancing through your yard,but when a storm comes and it will come ,some marraiges explode or implode depending on the circumstances.After the storm there are pieces to pick up,holes to plug up,all of this is doable as long as there is a commitment  from both parties.Maybe that is the issue,maybe only one party is more committed than the other.Even in that case it  is ok,as long as that is brought to light before a typhoon comes and causes havoc to a marriage.That is why it is so key we stay focused on the word of God.There are so many distractions out there waiting to draw us away from God and our spouse.On top of that we have our own lusts that quickly beset us.That is why we are to imitate God in our character(love your neighbor as yourself),the way we treat our spouses(husbands love your wife as christ loves the church,wifes honor your husbands),with our money(tithing),etc...    The world is watching us as christians and are wondering why shoiuld we give our lives to Christ but  the problem arises when christians behave like the  world then they have no incentive to change especially in our marriages.Is it really that hard to forgive one another,yet God forgives us unconditionally yet we want to show unconditional love to our kids when the spouses are the receive the same treatment.Is it really that hard not to be selfish,stubborn,loving towards one another.You bet it is when we are operating from within ourselves but when we tap into the Holy Spirit,it is not impossible.Our reward is to please Him and the blessings that He would bestow on us.Is it any wonder that christian marraiges are falling apart at a rapid rate that has angels crying? Unfortunately there is one party that has latched on the worlds way on doing things when doing it God's way brings him Glory and blessings are rained down and the world can say "how did your marraige survive storm after storm?" The answer can be that we follwed God's instructions,let us show you and the cycle is repeated.God ordained marriage and God is love..With that said love should be freeflowing in marriage,unfortunately few of us do not know what love really entails.Sometimes it means sacrificing ourselves,our wants and desires to please another.Sometimes it means forgiving more than you care to,sometimes it means to love in the face of hatred,sometimes it means being patient..Tap into God and His word and analyze yourself  to see if you are hitting His standard.Our first ministry is home whether husband or wife.Let's be about our father's business.
