Day 219: Love is impossible

Let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.—1 John 4:7

TODAY’S DARE. Look back over the dares from previous days. Were there some that seemed impossible to you? Have you realized your need for God to change your heart and to give you the ability to love? Ask Him to show you where you stand with Him, and ask for the strength and grace to settle your eternal destination.

--I was able to see MB today at Bella’s horseback riding lesson.  It was only briefly, she left shortly after I got there. We only talked about how much we needed to pay for Bella’s lessons.  Also, she got to see Lincoln while he was “throwing a fit” about being there.  Lincoln often does not want to spend the few hours there watching Bella’s lessons. He is bored, cold, and rather be at home playing or doing things he likes.  When he is with me, he is there only half the day and when he is with MB, it is all day.  Every Saturday.  Although I don’t think MB thinks much about this inconvenience, it was good for MB to see that, I think.

This was sent to me today as reminder to never give up standing for our spouse...

“When a man is getting better he understands more and more clearly the evil that is still left in him. When a man is getting worse he understands his own badness less and less. A moderately bad man knows he is not very good; a thoroughly bad man thinks he is all right. This is common sense, really. You understand sleep when you are awake, not while you are sleeping. You can see mistakes in arithmetic when your mind is working properly: while you are making them you cannot see them. You can understand the nature of drunkenness when you are sober, not when you are drunk. Good people know about both good and evil: bad people do not know about either.” ~ C. S. Lewis,  Mere Christianity

MB is a good person, that I know. She is just doing a bad thing.  I need to keep praying, keep believing, keep hoping she will come to her senses and return to God, however long it takes. I will stay the course and keep being the light.

I am thankful to our God for: mother of Bella’s horse riding friend taking Bella to her morning horse lesson this morning (saves me and Lincoln from being in Bowie all day long); spending some one-on-one time with Lincoln; and being able to change the flush valve on our toilet.
