Day 208: Love is not jealous

Love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire.

—Song of Solomon 8:6 NIV

TODAY’S DARE Determine to become your spouse’s biggest fan and to reject any thoughts of jealousy. To help you set your heart on your spouse and focus on their achievements, take yesterday’s list of negative attributes and discreetly burn it. Then share with your spouse how glad you are about a success he or she recently enjoyed.

--Another quiet day today, zero contact with MB.  Today, MB had a professional development day.  The kids did not have school, but stayed in her classroom all day.  Just a prayer for today:

Dear Father God, Thank you for today. Thank you for my life and my marriage and my family. I pray father God that You would remind me every day with Your word that I need to encourage Mary Beth, help give me those opportunities. Help me to find the words to tell her how proud I am of her as a mom and a wife. She is an awesome gift you gave to me and I wish I can let Mary Beth know how much I appreciate her every day.  Father God, I pray that I would be a husband that encourages Mary Beth more than ever before. The enemy is constantly out to steal Mary Beth’s peace and joy. Father God, in this season of waiting, help me find ways to encourage her with Your word, with Your love and with Your strength.  Help Mary Beth see Your light through me. Father God, please help Mary Beth know she doesn’t need to compare her life or her accomplishments to anyone else’s because Your plan for her is what matters. Father God, help me to be Mary Beth’s biggest encourager and never her biggest critic. Father God, give me opportunities for the words to say when she needs encouragement and give me the wisdom to know when to be quiet when she just needs me to listen.  Father God, help me to support her dreams and passions. Father God, never let Mary Beth lose sight of the fact that she’s eternally loved by You and let Mary Beth find strength in MY LOVE for her as well. I pray in Jesus’ name, amen!

I am thankful to our God for: meeting with men’s group this morning; my marriage weekly support call this evening; and being able to have a warm meal.
