Day 204: Love is thoughtful

How precious also are Your thoughts to me. . . .How vast is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand.—Psalm 139:17–18

TODAY’S DARE Contact your spouse sometime during the business of the day. Have no agenda other than asking how he or she is doing and if there is anything you could do for them.

--Today I met MB and the kids in her classroom (to pick-up the kids).  I tried talking to MB…small talk.  I did ask her how her week went.  She replied saying “it was busy.”  MB seemed a little stressed (or not happity) so I did not want to invade her space.  MB was nicely dressed, she was wearing a camouflage blouse with the word “BLESSED” blocked in red on it.  I wanted to compliment her but did not think I should(??).  I would love to be able to talk with MB more.  In the meantime, I will just continue to spend my time creating fertile soil and an unshakable foundation for with MB returns home.  I know I will need it.

Dear Father God, I hold up our marriage to You. I understand that our marriage together is a picture of our relationship with you and it is Holy. I commit our marriage to You, Father God, that You would cause our thoughts to become agreeable with Your will and we would honor You in our marriage.  I agree to be kind and tenderhearted toward Mary Beth according to Your word, forgiving her and blessing her. Father God, I choose to speak the truth in love and listen well to Mary Beth. Make our marriage strong where we are weak, Father God. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.

PRAYER REQUEST, please:  For the government shutdown to end…I greatly need to get back to work.  Since I am a contract worker, I will NOT be getting back-pay like the rest of the federal workers.

I am thankful to our God for: making a pizza for the kids which they always like; being able to stop a water leak before it could have gotten a lot worse; and praying with Bella this morning for a math test she was worried about and she ended up doing well on it.

  • Seems like when it rains it pours. Keep focused on God. That's our only option. Great job with the smart contact.
