Day 202: Love is kind

Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.—Ephesians 4:32

TODAY’S DARE In addition to saying nothing negative to your spouse again today, do at least one unexpected gesture as an act of kindness.

--Today reminds me of what I have been praying for lately and that is for God to show me how He sees my wife.  I ask, “Father God, how do You see Mary Beth? …what is that like?  How does it feel?  How should I feel when I think of MB?”  I want to see MB like He sees her.  It has helped me see past what is going on and the hurts.  The thoughts and glimpses vary:…feelings of forgiveness for what she is doing; forgetting the past; looking past any sin; wanting friendship; seeing her as His purpose; saying to her, “it is okay, don’t worry about this or that…;”  I want to hug her, comfort her; tell her “I love you no matter what…;” tell her “we can get through this together…nothing is too difficult;” say, “what can I do to help…;” I get feelings of gentleness and caring for her similar to a loving father or a shepherd for his sheep.  I am not sure if this is how God sees MB, but I would think it is very close.  God commands me to be “kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven” me…God has been so kind to me; I should do that same.

I am thankful to our God for: posting two Youtube family videos; being able to hug Bella and Lincoln; and seeing the kids play in snow in the back yard.

  • If you can truly forgive and look past her sins you will not fail. I failed because I couldn't forgive or accept her sin even though I am a full fledged sinner myself.
