Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.—Psalm 119:105

Commit to reading the Bible every day. Find a devotional book or other resource that will give you some guidance. If your spouse is open to it, see if they will commit to daily Bible reading with you. Begin submitting each area of your life to its guidance and start building on the rock.

--Today, I looked into deception and the many ways the enemy deceives us.  One way that struck a chord with me is by exaggeration, which is basically wrapping-up some truth into a lie.  I believe MB may have been tricked in this way.   I remember early on in my confused state of mind hearing MB say things that were true, but they were made out to be bigger than they were.  The duration of problems grew from a few months to years to our whole marriage.  I just did not understand it at the time.  As I read today in Galatians 3 and the story where Paul was frustrated with the people of the Church in Galatia, because they so often fell for this trick of the devil, in which truth is mingled with lies. I like how Paul said, “O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth…? …Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?”    Makes me think what he could have been saying to MB in the Fall of 2017, “you are not happy, right?  …this will make you happy.”  Ugh!! We are lured into a lie because the lie contains a bit of truth to it.  But the rest is an exaggeration and the beginning of an accusation, resentment, or anger. Soon a supposed “truth” is ringing in our head, and we lose sight of the real Truth.  A whisper turns into a motivation to retaliate.  Just makes me hate satan so much….!  All this is just a reminder how important it is to NOT take our eyes off Him and His Word.  The more we know His word, the more we know the truth, the more we can speak the truth; AND the quicker we can slap the enemy off our shoulder when he begins to whisper in our ear. LOVE IS GOD’S WORD.

Dear Father God, thank you for loving us through Your Word.  Father God, may You help me today to be the man you've called me to be...the husband, the father, the brother, the uncle, and the friend. May I keep my eyes on YOU and Your WORD! My source of everything!!! Father God, help me discern the lies of the enemy.  Father God, please fill me up with your love, grace, & mercy that I may pour it out on Mary Beth and others. May I bring You glory & honor in all that I do. Father God, may You bind the enemy, demolish strongholds in our lives, our marriage, our family & please bring the healing & restoration only You can bring to my marriage. Also Father God, as it says in Joel 2:25, may You restore the many months the locusts have eaten, please restore Father God. Father God, I pray for NOT my will but YOUR will Father God...I love you & praise You in Jesus' name AMEN!

I am thankful to our God for: seeing MB today after school; eating dinner with Lincoln and Bella; and allowing me to continue to stand strong and let Your light shine through me.
