I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness. Then you will know the Lord.—Hosea 2:20

Love is a choice, not a feeling. It is an initiated action, not a knee-jerk reaction. Choose today to be committed to love even if your spouse has lost most of their interest in receiving it. Say to them today in words similar to these, “I love you. Period. I choose to love you even if you don’t love me in return.”

-- We are able to love our spouse when they are not deserving of our love because God has given us love when we do not deserve it.  I pray that God fill me with the kind of love only He can provide, then I can give MB love that reflects God’s love for me.  My only contact with MB today was a voice message I left with her updating MB regarding Bella’s doctor’s appointment.  My prayer for today:

Dear Father God, thank you for molding my heart.  Father God, 1st Samuel 15 is full of tragedy. Saul became prideful and wise in his own eyes. Because of his own pride, he didn’t listen to Your instruction. The consequences were devastating. They tore people apart, eroded trust, and cost him his crown.  What started out so purely went bad the minute Saul began trusting in himself instead of in You. And even though he repented, he still had to suffer the consequences from his disobedience.  Father God, help me, help us learn from this. Mary Beth and I don’t want to become prideful or to think we know better than You Father God. We want to trust Your word and Your wisdom instead of our own.  Father God, when we fall short, please guide me and Mary Beth back to the right path, and help us to be humble enough to accept the correction. Father God, help us know how to respond to Your conviction. For it is your correction and conviction that will allow us to live the life you have for us.  Father God, please give us humility, let Your will be down.  I pray, in Jesus name, Amen.

I am thankful to our God for: experiencing Air Force One today with the kids; getting Bella to the doctor and getting a good report from the doctor regarding Bella’s arm; and watching the star of Bethlehem with the kids.
