Day 180: Love is Jesus Christ

While we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.—Romans 5:6

TODAY’S DARE

Dare to take God at His Word. Dare to trust Jesus Christ for salvation. Dare to pray, “Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. But You have shown Your love for me by dying to forgive my sins, and You have proven Your power to save me from death by Your resurrection. Lord, change my heart, and save me by Your grace.”

--Without a question, I have found that loving with my own strength isn’t enough. I fall way short of giving perfect love. Our flesh, anger, pride, and selfishness all get in the way of extending grace and forgiveness. That is why we need God’s perfect love moving through us. Real love isn’t based on our human emotions or capabilities. It is God loving through us in ways that only He can. Romans 3:23 says that we have all fallen short of God’s commands, we are sinners. But we are not to let that fact get in the way of surrendering our will to God. It’s not easy to love in the middle of an argument, a disagreement, or when hurtful words come our way. But to hold onto anger, bitterness, and unforgiveness only hinders God’s real love from reaching the other person. If we are not right with God, we can’t truly love our spouse.  We are completely incapable of loving with forgiveness and unselfish pride without Him. Thank you for this reminder dear Father God.

Merry Christmas!!! Continuing to ask God for a marriage Christmas miracle!

Dear Father God, I know I don't know what is going on. The situation me and Mary Beth face seems impossible. And our marriage is in the firing line. But, Father God You are our shield.  I'm not sure who to believe, what to trust, when to move, where to go, or how to be…but Father God, I know You know ALL the answers. Father God, I am scared of the road ahead, it seems hard, even impossible. But Father God, I trust You will give us the tenacity and perseverance. Father God, I believe me and Mary Beth will experience our own miracle in the manger. The fight, the struggle, the journey will be worth it in the end…this I believe. I know You are faithful to answer my prayers. I love you Father God, thank you for your gift of Jesus.  In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen.

I am thankful to our God for: making pizza for the kids; having our kids home for Christmas; and seeing them open presents.
