Day 130: Love is unconditional

God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.—Romans 5:8

Do something out of the ordinary today for your spouse—something that proves (to you and to them) that your love is based on your choice and nothing else. Wash her car. Clean the kitchen. Buy his favorite dessert. Fold the laundry. Demonstrate love to them for the sheer joy of being their partner in marriage.

--Today was a stretch and another day of zero communication between me and MB. In the past I made MB cookies as her favorite dessert (now she won’t accept gifts from me).  I am not sure if “giving her space” proves my love for her.  Even though it won't affect her right now, I cleaned the shower this evening.  Had she still been living in our home, it would have been out of the ordinary for me to do that for her.  At least, this will help me keep my focus on her needs.

Please keep us in prayers this week.  This Wednesday at 10am is another court hearing.  I am praying for God’s intervention and will to emerge, a pause, for MB not to see me as the enemy, for MB to begin to understand the cost and consequences of moving forward with what she wants, patience for MB, as well as divine roadblocks that would prevent MB from moving too quickly or hastily in a way that would not honor God.

  • Prayers.

those dares when you do the best you can to complete the dares, knowing she will probably never know you did the act of kindness, are dares that offer great growth.

You did the dare with no motive to gain a reaction or in an attempt to win her over.  You showed selflessness.

The next time you have a choice to help her or someone else out even though you know they will never know or  reciprocate, it will be easier to choose to serve, just as Jesus did.

    Dare complete.
