Day 116: Love is God’s Word

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. —Psalm 119:105

TODAY’S DARE

Commit to reading the Bible every day. Find a devotional book or other resource that will give you some guidance. If your spouse is open to it, see if they will commit to daily Bible reading with you. Begin submitting each area of your life to its guidance and start building on the rock.

-I don’t think I could have made it this far without being refreshed by His Word daily.  Whether it is a short scripture or reading chapters, like Matthew 7:24-27 explains, it brings me stability during the storms of my life. It is a challenge with all the distractions of the enemy, but I know I have to block those things out and commit to reading.   I do think often, had our marriage been covered by His word (which we did not regularly dig into it), maybe this storm could have been averted.

I am reminded again tonight—it is not in my timing, but God’s; so I pray that in time, my continued testimony may lead MB to prayer and bible reading with me. I pray for God’s will to manifest in our marriage and for His love and light to be seen.

FYI…I have been praying for “roadblocks” every step of the way to slow down what MB is wanting to do to our family.  MB has been copying me on her email attempts to see a mediator for how to manage finances, schedules, “co-parent,” etc.  So far, everyone MB has contacted is either not taking new clients, date/time did not work, or has not responded.  I believe that if God wanted us to be doing what we (she) are (is) doing, it would be a little easier.  I will continue to pray for patience for MB as well as divine roadblocks that would prevent MB from moving too quickly or hastily in a way that would not honor God.

I am not sure if it is good this think this way, but I will NOT assist MB in this process…

  • That is pretty cool how she's running into roadblocks.  God surely works doesn't He?!

I think it is good you are not assisting in any way.  It takes strength from God not to do so.  I folded and helped her with what our mortgage payment was when she was talking to a lawyer.  THis was several years ago.  I was so into pleasing her instead of choosing God first, I didn't realize that I should not have helped her until I read your entry.
