Day 103: Love always protects

[Love] always protects.—1 Corinthians 13:7 NIV

TODAY’S DARE

Remove anything that is hindering your relationship, any addiction or influence that’s stealing your affections and turning your heart away from your spouse.

--This love dare is another good reminder, that even if I believe that God has blessed me with strong armor that has kept me away “from harmful influences, unhealthy relationships, shame, and parasites;” I should NOT lean on yesterday's victory or laurels.  I must continue to refresh myself in the Word, trust, pray and continue to fight off the enemy’s temptation, because temptation is Satan’s weapon.  I will NOT give Satan a foothold in my life.  Sorry Satan, do what you do best…run away!    The only thing that is turning my heart away from my spouse is God.

Receive a text from MB at about 4pm saying “Happy birthday Adrian!” and asking me what time I am picking up the kids.  It was nice she texted that to me.

My prayer of protection for MB:

Dear Father God, I pray that You bless MB’s heart.  Guide it, open it, soften it, show it Your love. Give MB Your light, show her the path forward.  She needs Your strength and power to overcome any hurts, confusion, shame, lies, or pride she may have. Father God cure her of any financial struggles she is going through.  Lift the burdens from her shoulders, free her from the chains that may be keeping her from You. Father God I pray MB and I grow together.  Father, it is my dream that MB and I meet together on our knees at the alter to beg for Your grace and blessings in our marriage again.  I believe her desire to love again exists, destroy the barriers that divide us.  Father God, please keep Bella, Lincoln, MB, and myself as a family.  Father God what do you think the next steps for us should be, where would You like to see us go?  Father God teach us how to love unconditionally, as you intended love to be.  Do not allow us to follow our hearts, help us lead our hearts.  Love is a covenant with You Father, please remind us of that! I love you Father!  I pray in Jesus name, Amen!

  • As you point out, often times when we have sustained victories over a vice or sin, we often think that we have conquered it and think we are strong enough that we need not concern ourselves with it any longer and begin leaning less on it was God sustaining those victories, and then the door is open more widely for those sins to emerge once again.

  • I wouldn't include the lifting of her burdens or financial difficulties. she put herself there and God can use that to bring him closer to Him.  When things are difficult that's when we finally come to Him. When we are in good shape financially and from other burdens, that's when we become lax with God's will and want to fulfill our own will.
