Day 59: Love is impossible

  • Comments 1

Let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.—1 John 4:7

TODAY’S DARE

Look back over the dares from previous days. Were there some that seemed impossible to you? Have you realized your need for God to change your heart and to give you the ability to love? Ask Him to show you where you stand with Him, and ask for the strength and grace to settle your eternal destination.

--Obviously yesterday’s invitation for dinner (#58) seemed impossible, but I sort of expected it.  I could have taken the route of a gift card to her favorite restaurant.  Had I did that, she probably would not have told me she is “moving on with her life” and to “stop writing her notes.”

Sometimes our actions stir things up; I guess this needed to happen.  Otherwise, I would not have known her feelings.  Clearly, she does not want my love right now.  But, I do know that love never fails.  How bad can the consequences be for loving someone be, compared to doing nothing.   I have realized that maybe I need to show love in different ways, try to find ways that maybe MB would be more receptive to.  Instead of notes, just voice the message directly to her if possible.  This is something I will be praying for God to change in my heart.

I am also praying for wisdom on these questions: what my next steps should be?  Should I continue with these love dares?  Should I really respect MB’s wishes to stop things or is that what the enemy is wanting me to do?  Is there something else out there that can be a tool for me regarding what to do? What does His word say I should be doing?  Should I just pray (not to undermine “just” because I know prayer is powerful)?  Should I do nothing and let time pass?  Praying for God’s guidance, please!

  • You're pretty close to finishing the second round.  I would say finish this round in a way God gives you wisdom to.

Don't over dwell on all of this.  And trust God will give you the wisdom you need, when you need it.  But keep in prayer seeking His wisdom.
