Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

—Psalm 119:105

Commit to reading the Bible every day. Find a devotional book or other resource that will give you some guidance. If your spouse is open to it, see if they will commit to daily Bible reading with you. Begin submitting each area of your life to its guidance and start building on the rock.

Started reading through the New Testament, Matthew today.  I am praying for this love dare:

Dear God, I come to you in the name of your son Jesus.  Thank you for Your word. I believe in Your word. I believe Your word is my lamp to my feet and my path.  Lord, I commit to learning Your word everyday.  I want Your word to live in me.  Help me share Your word with Lincoln and Bella.  I pray that You push aside the things that get in my way and prevent me from learning your word.  Silence the noise from the enemy that distracts me when I read your word.  Also, I pray God that MB will someday soon want to read the bible together.  Please give MB the will to want to. I pray You direct us to those steps Father God.  Thank you for lighting my path forward.  I love you God.  If my prayers fall outside of Your will, please do away with them. In the name of your son Jesus, Amen.

  • IF you havn't yet, pick out a time that works for you to read at a specific time each day, just as you would do with prayer.  Be it in the morning, at lunch time, or bedtime.  But often, if not done in the morning, it can get pushed aside.  I have been struggling in this area of being consistent in the same time each day.

Thanks for the reminder I should pray one day she and I read/pray together.
