  • Today I decided to start the love dare again. For the 3rd time. Every time I give up; I become so frustrated that it isn't working that I forget my focus is not my spouse. But my journey/my change with God. My spouse and I have both done so much damage to this marriage and on the logical side/human view point, this question arises; why should we even remain together? My entire marriage I've managed to remain a relationship with God which is lukewarm. Its nothing to have to do with Him just I can never seem to keep to his teachings. And I go back to being me, the me without Christ.

I pray and I hope you will too; that God renews my heart and soul and helps me keep it this way. My fear is ill change, but only for 40 days. Not forever. Like I said, I don't know if there is hope for my spouse and I but I do know our kids are worth me trying.

I'm jumping into the dare again, but pray that I keep my focus on God and not my spouse. I know this wont be easy.

    Thank you,

  • Welcome.  As you know, keep looking at this  as a  journey between you and Christ, not you and your wife.  She will be used as a tool to mold you.  do a dare a day, no more, no less.  Do not read ahead in the book except the appendix, especially about leading the heart.  Have no expectations from her.

The flesh may ask the question why stay together.  But, you made a covenant, between you, her and God.  Do you want to break a covenant that you made with God?

Lukewarm with God is sure better than being cold or  not believing.  but, I believe Jesus said He would spew out the lukewarm.  So, use these dares to grow from Lukewarm to so much closer to God.

If you do the dares as intended, without manipulating them, you will become

  • more consistent in staying in Christ and growing in Him.
