Day 6 - Love is not irritable

  • It's been exactly a week since my wife told me that we should explore other options in our lives. I began the Love Dare on Monday, so today is my actual 6th day doing it. She assures me that she loves me but not in love with because she feels after years of neglect, it's too late to fix what's already broken. I have a history of anger and frustration even from when I was a kid. So, for to her to say it's too late builds up my natural instincts to become angry and attempt to defend myself.

I know in the past that I've focused on all the wrong things, such as spending too much time playing on my phone and only talking to her about my problems at work. I feel like she thinks we've become redundant and complacent in our relationship. She is now shut down to all my attempts to talk about our issues because she knows, as I do, that we've spoken too many times about them in the past and I have not changed.

It's hard to change my ways especially since I consider them to be the natural way to deal with certain situations.

  • What got you to this point is doing things your way.  Just like the rest of us.  do the love dare, one dare a day, no more or less.  This will bring you to doing things Christ's way and help you greatly in ridding yourself of the anger frustration issues.

this is a journey, one between you and Christ, not you and your wife,  Christ will mold you in the dares.

Please try posting often, but in the love dare journal section under the community link.  You will get more and quicker responses there.  this part of the site isn't well read.

    Welcome to the community.
