Day 80—Love is still a COVENANT

Write out a renewal of your vows and place them in your home.  Perhaps, if appropriate, you could make arrangements to formally renew your wedding vows before a minister and with family present.  Make it a living testament to the value of marriage in God's eyes and the high honor of being one with your mate.”

“The time is now, woman of God, to renew your covenant of love in all sincerity and surrender. Love is too holy a treasure to trade in for another, and too powerful a bond to be broken without dire consequences. Fasten your love afresh on this one the Lord has given you to cherish, prize, and honor.”

Last round I expressed my husband and I were not at a place whatsoever to write out renewal of vows or make arrangements for a vow renewal. Despite my husband’s continued struggle, I feel a lot closer to this milestone in our marriage than 40 days ago. I wrote out a renewal of vows and if God willing look forward to sharing them with my husband this August on our fifth anniversary in front of our closest family and friends. He is my special gift from God and I want to make that known. We have our own love story—a story that has gone to a dark place and took us to brokenness, but by the grace of God we our healing and being blessed with our happily ever after.

Late last week I started praying about whether to continue the Love Dare journey. I am well aware this is a lifetime journey, but I had thought this was going to be my last round with actively completing each dare. However, God has different plans for me. He has without a doubt led me towards continuing with a third round. I am READY. Our life together is before me. I DARE to take hold of it. I DARE to continue this marathon—a race still worth running!

  • There is also the year of devotions for the love dare.

But I do like hearing doing the 40 day again. There is always something that will be brought by it.

    Praise God!

  • Sean - I definitely want to do the yearly one in God's time...with my husband just like you are doing with your wife.

  • Pray upon it... maybe it is something you may want to look into.
