I have in the past not included my wife in my decision making for the house and family. I see this now but back then I just thought that the head of house hold make the decisions. This will be something I will do in the future.

Well today I went to my wifes now house and pulled carpet out of bathroom and bedroom so she could hae the wood floors finished. I then mowed the yard and finished getting the water off the pool cover so she could unwrap it this evening. Don't really know why I am doing this....guess I am helping a neighbor out.  :(

My son called her later on that night but had to leave a message and she called back but I let him answer. She asked to talk to me and said thanks for all the work I done and she would let me know when the living room was clear for that carpet to come up. Don't know if it was to thank me or give me info when she needs my help next. Through the whole day I didn't get emotional at all, that shows me that I have truly given this to Christ to deal with.

I felt pretty good to help her out just hope I don't get taken advantage of in the future.

  • Otty,

Look at it like this. Being Christ-like is being there for her when she needs you. If you enjoy doing it for her, then you are not being taken advantage of. There is no doubt she is seeing the changes in you and I would say have to be effected in someway. It seems you have finally broken the coldness she has had. Just stay on your path with Christ and he will leave you the opportunity to prove.

  • She used to not like being around me when I was working on things cause when something would go wrong I would be all upset and angry. I have yet to do that here lately since I have given my life over to God. There is a lot of work that needs to be done in the bathroom cause of rotted floors and I was hesitant to offer my time yesterday to fix it. She was saying she would call someone today. I have been praying last night and this morning weather or not I should offer to do the work...guess it's like you said "if I enjoy doing it for her...." Guess that is the answer for that prayer

  • He will always open the door, it is how you respond....
