72—Love still Meets Sexual Needs
“If at all possible, try to initiate sex with
your husband or wife today. Do this in a way that honors what your spouse has
told you (or implied to you) about what they need from you sexually. Ask God to
make this enjoyable for both of you as well as a path to greater intimacy.”
I prayed about the
dare this morning. If God wanted it to be completed, He was definitely going to
have to open a door since my husband and I have not had contact since Friday
when he decided he needed more space again.
When I got home I
could tell he had stopped by since his pile of mail was gone. I decided to
watch Fireproof again. I didn’t think the movie could make me cry that much
more since I know exactly how it goes, but dang, it still pulls at the
heartstrings especially the scenes of Caleb giving himself to Christ. I just
envision my husband in those moments—someday soon.
In the midst of
watching the movie my husband texted me asking how I was feeling. I continued
watching till I felt God telling me it was okay to respond. I then told him I
have been feeling back to 100% physically since Friday. We then just had small
talk about his bike riding.
The path to greater
intimacy that the chapter speaks so beautifully about will come, but for now
even in the smallest of moments I praise God for our contact.
What Christ has taught you and all the humble moments that you have experienced has prepared you for love that you never dreamed possible.
That time will come, it will come with the person who is willing to live through Christ as you are. Just know that Christ will give that to you.
