  • Now I am not skipping ahead or purposely missing dares, Yesterday was finally the day got to make the dinner for him for the day 18 dare.  Durring dinner he told me how he still doesn't like me wearing my ring and I told him the reason I'm wearing it is because I love him.  I then explained to him how it is a symbol of my commitment to him.  That there never was and never will be anyone else. And I also wear it because I’m not looking for anyone else and I don’t want men thinking I'm available.  I told him I love him and he don’t have to tell me back.   So I wake up today to see today's dare is telling him "I love you".  Did I already do it yesterday?   In the beginning of my Love Dare journey he has already accused me smothering him... I'm afraid if I tell him again so close to yesterday he will freak out.

  • The saying i always here is do a dare a day, no more, no less, and do not manipulate the dares to make it easier on us.  And to trust God is using the dares in a certain order to direct us, to help us grow and trust him.

And for us to trust  Him more than we fear the dares.

Are you new here?  If so welcome.  You may want to repost in the love dare journal section, under the community tab.  More will read what you have to say there.

  • Yes I'm new here. And thank you for your advice but I'm still confused...did I do it already? Or should I tell him again today? Not trying to Manipulate the dares Ijust don't want to overdo them either.

  • I forgot to mention in my original post that I did tell him he did not have to love me back

  • Sorry.  Yes, do the dare.

Keep in mind, this is a journey, one between you and Christ, not you and him.  He will be used as a tool to mold you.  you will be humbled at times, but this has purpose. Keep doing a dare a day, no more, no less.  And it sounds like you are not reading ahead and that's great.  But do read the appendix, expecially the part on leading the heart.

  • Thank you.  I did it - I was so afraid and I'm sure it was obvious to him I was nervous when I told him.  I said, "I love you.  Period.  I choose to love you even if you don't love me in return"  He was calm but said, 'You have already made that very clear".  He replied like that because I pretty much said the same things to him couple weeks ago and again the day before.  I pray that God will soften his heart to God loving him through me.

  • I know he could see how nervous I was.  I hope he could tell that I really meant what I said.  Since God has taken me on this journey I have learned to love him through the eyes of Christ and I love him so much more than before I gave my life back to God.   I'm afraid my fear may have made it come across not genuine to him.  I couldn't help it I was so scared.

  • You did the dare even  though you wee so afraid.  That is terrific.  You have experienced that you can face fear with Chrst at your side.  And this is making wonderful changes in you.  He may have noticed youu wer afraid, but who cares?  I am sure he didn't look at it as you being not genuine.  He saw you faced the fear and chose to do it anyway, and that shows your sincerity.  But more importantly you showed God you trust in Him.

So if there is another dare you fear, remember how you did this one. You took a step in building some endurance in Christ today.
