Day 21—Love is Satisfied in God

“Be intentional today about making a time to pray and read your Bible. As you do, immerse yourself in the love and promises God has for you.  This will add to your growth as you walk with Him.”

Prayer and devotions is a vital part of my time ever day. I’ve mentioned before, part of my New Year’s resolution was reading the Bible in a year and doing daily devotions—essentially more margin for my walk with God. Little did I know this was just a stepping stone God had in place for me as I was about to embark on a journey I could had never imagined. As time progressed and I started The Love Dare journey a month later, I truly realize how much I need to immerse myself in God’s Word whether it be through my daily devotions, Bible, prayer, listening to my praise music, and/or my small group (studying the “Good and Beautiful God Jesus Knows”). It is a big part of what gives me strength to keep going as well as hope and peace when I am feeling extremely down.

My eyes and heart are opened more and more every day. I continue to see His work being done even in the smallest of things. He truly does listen to our prayers whether we like His answers or not. I do not necessarily like all the answers I am getting, but in order to truly be right with God and allow Him to mold me exactly how He wants/needs, I’ve got to follow His path no matter how difficult it is. He is putting things in place for this journey to move forward. Heartache is definitely a part of it, but I know my comforter and protector never leaves me.

A quote I recently stumbled upon that fits perfectly with today’s dare—“When we have nothing left but God, we discover that God is enough.”

  • It is true. I remember the day my brother in laws girl friend seen me sitting by my pool. With my entire life crashing down.

She said "I want what you have" I asked her what she was talking about. She said "with everything that is going on, you smile and there is a glow about you"

It was then I realized. My whole life I chased the american dream. Got it. The house, cars money etc... None of it was enough. I still was not happy.

But in the most trial time in my life. I was happy. Yea I had problems. But did not care, I knew now I just leave them with Christ. It is awesome.
