  • My husband told me on 8.31 that he wanted out of our 10 year marriage.  We have 2 kids, 5 and 8.  His reasoning was that I never showed him that I loved him or cared about him and that I put people before him. This is not a false statement.  I have been very comfortable in the way that I show affection to him.  I started the Dare then. He has still been at home, but very cold to me.  He won't talk to me and is saying he is leaving.  He says the actions that I am showing now are fake and I am only doing it to save face.  His friend comes home from the beach this weekend and then he is going to go stay with him.  He swore there was no one else, and then I found out yesterday that, that was a lie.  He says that is hasn't gotten to sex, just talking about things they probably shouldn't.  They work together and she is engaged. I am crushed.  He works night shift and I wrote him a letter last night with all of my feelings.  I know he read it because it was in our bathroom this morning.  I don't want him to leave.  And I feel like Day 12 is telling me to let him go.  I have been praying for God to soften his heart and to make me the wife he intended for me to be.  He told him, "Good luck with all that praying".  He has lost his faith and I just don't know what to do.

  • Welcome.  This will be a journey between you and Christ not you and him.  He will be used as a tool to mold you.  Do a dare a day.  No more no less. Such as writing another letter.  Anything extra will get in the space he needs.  And will also get in God's way in working in him.

Your husband needs to see your testimony stay very consistent.  So doing the dates will help this.  And in time he will begin to believe you have changed.

Do not read ahead in the book other than the appendix especially about leading the heart.

Try posting next time, if you can, under the Love dare journal section, under the community tab.  More people read that section.

  • I cannot figure out how to post in the journal.

  • Glad you got it figured out.

  • I'm seeing time and consistency are very important. I am a firm believer that time can heal all wounds.. along with a lot of help from God. In the time you spend away from your spouse if you remain consistent in your faith and actions the minimum that can happen is you becoming a much better person and much much closer to God, which is the most important thing anyway.
