Well, what I had planned did not turn out, yet. I decided that getting my wife some of her favorite snack food and desserts would be a good way to perform this dare. In actuality, what I have ended up doing is being there for her during a major crisis. Of course, I still have the desserts. She and I are still separated. However, she expressed some interest in watching Fireproof with me tomorrow night. My fervent and sincere prayer is that God will use this film to bring her to Him. Yes, my preference is that she and I would reconcile. BUT, my real desire for her is that she come to know Jesus in the same way I have. After all, there is no one I would rather share this walk with. God has given me an incredible Love for her and the rest of humanity. It's the kind of Love that only He can give. And of course, I want to share it. Today has been trying, but I found myself leading my heart to Christ during the trying times. He has been my focus. He has been my strength and my peace. I have been claiming the verse from Isaiah, "and the chastisement of our peace was upon Him." From what I have gathered today, that means that the price for my peace has already been paid. All I have to do is ask for it and it's mine. What an incredible thought!
When we start to get it, things are just so different in our outlook.
Each and everyone of these problems in our lives we just leave at His feet, and we get to move on. So awesome....
When watching the movie with her, remember.... Shut off all phones, no interruptions at all. No talking to her. If she talks to you make sure you let her know you can talk after.
Let her focus on the movie.
Definitely, Sean. And please keep her in your prayers today. I have been praying since she told me she wanted to watch it. And I'll be hitting my knees several times today.
And, the enemy is trying his best to prevent us watching the movie. She is ill today and has called in to work. She says that she might still come watch it, but she isn't sure, yet. Since I'm buying the DVD instead of renting it, she'll watch it one day. We'll see what happens, but God is in control and I am at peace.
Trust in Him, and He will bless the desires of your heart.
