  • Hi there

I have decided to start the LD today. My wife and I have been together for almost 11 years (Married for 6).

She recently went away for 4 months to study and before she left we were not on the best of terms. While she was away we had a few fall outs to say the least.

We both sayd and did things we shouldn't have but since she has been back she has been adamant that she wants to divorce.

I know I have never been the most attentive of husbands but I have always supported her. I think my biggest problem is the fact that I don't think before I speak, don't take her into account when doing certain things and then the big one: we have not been together in our religion as we should have. We can both be very stubborn as well.

I feel I only noticed how much I really care about her when it was too late.

I have truly rekindled my faith in God the last 2 or so months and have decided that today I will start with the LD. I understand it takes patience and that to me is probably one of the most difficult tasks in itself.

She sent me a text today asking me when I am planning on moving out. I was devastated as I really want to save our marriage. We have 2 beautiful kids (9 and 4) and I can already see the toll the situation is taking on them. I have made peace with the fact that it ias a marathon and not a sprint. I also still get the feeling that she does still love me even when she said she doesn't.

I basically would really appreciate it if you guys could take a moment to include us in your prayers as I know God is the only one that will be able to fix it if it is meant to be fixed.

    It will truly be appreciated.

  • Welcome.

Let it fall on her to move out, not you.  Do not do anything to aid a separation or a d.

this will be a journey one between you and Christ and not your wife.  she will be used as a tool to mold you.  Do a dare a day, no more, no less.  Do not read ahead in the book other than the appendix, especially about leading the heart.

Have no expectations of her when you do the dares.  It will get worse before it gets better, but this will serve purpose.  So do not worry or think about that.

the dares, if you do them as intended to be done, without manipulating them to make them easier, will give you the changes in Christ that you need.

Try posting under the Love Dare Journal section, under the community tab if you can.  more people read that section.  if you have trouble finding that seciton, please come back here.

  • Do a dare a day, no more, no less.

Does this mean I should try to keep communication with her to a minimum?
